Progress Notes not updating within the approval process - Cache

by Greg 14. September 2009 10:12

"After updating a document the changes do not apear.  I know that the changes were made."

Two things can cause this:

1) Your administrator needs to check "Clear Cache on Viewer Exit" for you, as a user

****If this does not work****

2) Open the viewer, goto Options --> Viewer Setup then click the "Clear Cache" button (see associate image)

ActiveX Install Loop During Approvals

by Matt 2. September 2009 04:50

If you have not completed the installation of the Audio Note ActiveX control, you will be prompted to install it the add-in every time a note populates the approval area.  For example, if you have two-hundred notes that need approval, you will be prompted two-hundred times to install the add-in.  This leads to a loop of sorts that you will have to click OK two-hundred times before you can remedy the situation.  If you get stuck in this loop, the only solution is to manually end Internet Explorer's process via the task manager and then change your ActiveX settings to allow the installation to take place.  To do this, complete the following steps:

  1. Right-click your Taskbar running along the bottom of your screen
  2. Left-click Task Manager to look at your running applications
  3. Click the Applications tab
  4. Click any instance of Internet Explorer in the list
  5. Click End Task

Once you have closed Internet Explorer, you need to change your security settings to allow the install to complete.  To do this, follow the instructions below:

  1. Open Internet Explorer
  2. Click Tools and then Internet Options
  3. Click the Security and then click Custom
  4. Scroll down until you see the ActiveX controls and plug-ins section
  5. Find Download unsigned ActiveX controls
  6. Put the dot in Prompt radio button
  7. Click OK and then OK again
  8. Restart Internet Explorer

Now, go to Approvals section of CaseWorks and you will be prompted to install the Audio Note feature, but now you should be able to complete the installation.

Cannot Give a Reason for Rejection

by Matt 1. September 2009 08:57

If you reject a note during the approval process, you are required to give a reason for rejection.  Sometimes, Internet Explorer will prevent the window from popping up and requesting input.  To remedy this situation, do the following:

  1. Click Tools and then Internet Options
  2. Click the Security and then click Custom
  3. Scroll down until you see the ActiveX controls and plug-ins section
  4. Find Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe for scripting
  5. Put the dot in Prompt radio button
  6. Click OK and then OK again
  7. Restart Internet Explorer

treatment plans posted before getting approved

by Deanna 27. August 2009 05:17

Treatment plans and progress notes are posted to the consumer's chart right away. Shouldn't they get approved first?

No, each processed form is posted before approval so that you may see what has taken place for each consumer, and so that you may make changes as deemed necessary by yourself or an approver. You can see whether or not the form has been approved by checking the document list from the consumer's general info screen, or by checking the approval section > my approved forms (from the main screen).
