If you have not completed the installation of the Audio Note ActiveX control, you will be prompted to install it the add-in every time a note populates the approval area. For example, if you have two-hundred notes that need approval, you will be prompted two-hundred times to install the add-in. This leads to a loop of sorts that you will have to click OK two-hundred times before you can remedy the situation. If you get stuck in this loop, the only solution is to manually end Internet Explorer's process via the task manager and then change your ActiveX settings to allow the installation to take place. To do this, complete the following steps:
- Right-click your Taskbar running along the bottom of your screen
- Left-click Task Manager to look at your running applications
- Click the Applications tab
- Click any instance of Internet Explorer in the list
- Click End Task
Once you have closed Internet Explorer, you need to change your security settings to allow the install to complete. To do this, follow the instructions below:
- Open Internet Explorer
- Click Tools and then Internet Options
- Click the Security and then click Custom
- Scroll down until you see the ActiveX controls and plug-ins section
- Find Download unsigned ActiveX controls
- Put the dot in Prompt radio button
- Click OK and then OK again
- Restart Internet Explorer
Now, go to Approvals section of CaseWorks and you will be prompted to install the Audio Note feature, but now you should be able to complete the installation.

Some pages on CaseWorks web will prompt you to install an ActiveX control. When you are prompted via Internet Explorer's Information Bar, you right-click the bar and left-click Install. Sometimes, this will fail and you can enable the ability to install our ActiveX control by doing the following:
- Click Tools and then Internet Options
- Click the Security and then click Custom
- Scroll down until you see the ActiveX controls and plug-ins section
- Find Download unsigned ActiveX controls
- Put the dot in Prompt radio button
- Click OK and then OK again
- Restart Internet Explorer
Now, you should be able to right-click the Information Bar, select Install, and it will allow you to click Install for the installation dialog box.

If you reject a note during the approval process, you are required to give a reason for rejection. Sometimes, Internet Explorer will prevent the window from popping up and requesting input. To remedy this situation, do the following:
- Click Tools and then Internet Options
- Click the Security and then click Custom
- Scroll down until you see the ActiveX controls and plug-ins section
- Find Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe for scripting
- Put the dot in Prompt radio button
- Click OK and then OK again
- Restart Internet Explorer

In Word 2003, you must hit ENTER on your keyboard after typing your password into the CaseWorks toolbar. Then hit "login", "import", fill out form, then upload as normal.

In order to upload Word forms to the system, you must install the Office Add-In for Word 2003 or 2007 (depending which version is installed on your computer). Instructions for Windows XP users:
1. login to CaseWorks Web
2. from the main screen, click "downloads"
3. users whose organizations use digital signature pads can select Office Forms Add-in for Office 2007 w/ Signatures - Beta or Office Forms Add-in for Office 2000/2003 w/ Signatures - Beta . I recommend trying this version even if you're not using digital signatures at this point.
Alternately you may choose the non-beta version: Office Forms Add-in for Office 2007 or Office Forms Add-in for Office 2000/2003
4. After clicking on the link, select "run" and follow the prompts to complete installation.
Open Word 2007 and you should see a new ribbon: "CaseWorks Web." If you are using Word 2003 and do not immediately see the new CaseWorks/IW Forms toolbar, you may need to select it from the View > Toolbars menu.

"That 32-bit editions of Windows Vista are limited to 4GB is not because of any physical or technical constraint on 32-bit operating systems. The 32-bit editions of Windows Vista all contain code for using physical memory above 4GB. Microsoft just doesn’t license you to use that code."
