Disabled Word Add-in

If you've installed the CaseWorks Word Add-in and it is not showing up, follow these instructions for making it return.

Word 2003

  1. Click Tools and then Toolbars
  2. Click IWOFFICE and your toolbar should appear

Word 2007

  1. Click the Office Logo in the top left
  2. Click Word Options
  3. Click Add-ins
  4. Click the drop down box towards the bottom and select Disabled Items
  5. Click IWOFFICE2007
  6. Click Enable

login error in Word 2003

In Word 2003, you must hit ENTER on your keyboard after typing your password into the CaseWorks toolbar. Then hit "login", "import", fill out form, then upload as normal.

Trouble with Non-Beta Word 2003 Plugin

If a user is experiencing trouble with the non-beta version of the Office 2003 plugin. Install the beta version version via the instructions below:

XP

  1. Go to the Main Menu of the CaseWorks Web website
  2. Go to the Downloads section
  3. Click the link that says Office Forms Add-in for Office 2000/2003 w/ Signatures - Beta
  4. Choose Run
  5. Click Extract
  6. Click Install for the Microsoft Shared Add-in installation
  7. Click through the installation by clicking Next and then Install.

Vista

  1. Go to the Main Menu of the CaseWorks Web website
  2. Go to the Downloads section
  3. Click the link that says Office Forms Add-in for Office 2000/2003 w/ Signatures - Beta
  4. Choose Save
  5. Browse to the location you saved the file to
  6. Right-click the installation package and then left-click Run As Administrator
  7. Click Extract
  8. Click Install for the Microsoft Shared Add-in installation
  9. Click through the installation by clicking Next and then Install.

Usage: When using the Word 2003 non-beta add-in, be sure to ALWAYS tab between the username, passoword, and login button.  If you do not, the box will not retain the information you have typed into it and will give you a login error.

missing caseworks toolbar in word

In order to upload Word forms to the system, you must install the Office Add-In for Word 2003 or 2007 (depending which version is installed on your computer). Instructions for Windows XP users:

1. login to CaseWorks Web

2. from the main screen, click "downloads"

3. users whose organizations use digital signature pads can select Office Forms Add-in for Office 2007 w/ Signatures - Beta or Office Forms Add-in for Office 2000/2003 w/ Signatures - Beta  . I recommend trying this version even if you're not using digital signatures at this point.

Alternately you may choose the non-beta version: Office Forms Add-in for Office 2007 or Office Forms Add-in for Office 2000/2003

4. After clicking on the link, select "run" and follow the prompts to complete installation.

 

Open Word 2007 and you should see a new ribbon: "CaseWorks Web." If you are using Word 2003 and do not immediately see the new CaseWorks/IW Forms toolbar, you may need to select it from the View > Toolbars menu.
